A possible Stem Cell match has been found for Eva in the United States, this means she will be able to undergo the life saving treatment.
Its great news!
There's still a long way to go, but its a big step in the right direction!

13th April - Fundraising Night at Harboro' Rugby Club....

Friday 13 April is Fundraising night at the Rugby Club!!.

Its Free Admission, donations will be taken on the door. The Haize will be playing live.
We are having a prize draw and tickets will be on sale as of next week thanks to Shire Press.

Also on the night we are having an auction. Mr Gilding of Gildings is providing an auctioneer. We are keen for people to offer prize donations for the auctions. So if you own/run a local business please get in touch with a pledge or donation of some kind. We have already received some fabulous prizes and generous offers but we would like even more.

The proceeds from the auction and draw will go towards purchasing a piece of equipment for the laboratory at the Anthony Nolan trust which will help them speed up the search for matches not only for Eva but also for the thousands of others waiting for a bone marrow match.
We feel this is an excellent opportunity to bring the town of Market Harborough together. Eva has touched the hearts of so many people she is a special little girl.
HFM are hoping to do a live link from the rugby club so it will be a fantastic evening of fun for a brilliant cause.

New Clinic Dates.. Wedesday 4th Aprll

Thank again to everyone who attended the 2nd clinic. Once again a great turnout...

There will be another bone marrow testing Clinic on Wednesday 4th April, once again at the Assembly Rooms, Welland Park College, Mkt Harborough.
The session will take place between 4 and 8pm.

All you need to do is turn up.

It went better than everyone could have hoped, ususally they only expect to get
30-40 people at a session, 300+ got tested on the night and they had to turn away
another 200-300 people as they had run out of kits.
If you were one of those turned away, please don't worry, they're going to be doing another clinic in a couple of weeks, dates will be posted everywhere, so please come along then.

So we're waiting for results now..

Fingers crossed.

Donor Clinic coming to Harborough!

There will be a mobile testing clinic on the 30th January at the Assembly Rooms, Welland Park Community College, Welland Park Road, Market Harborough. Between 5pm and 8pm.

All you need to do is turn up.

This is beautiful little Eva Belle.

On the 20th November 2006, just days after her 3rd birthday, Eva was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. As time with this condition is critical, chemotherapy was started within days and she has yet to return home to her family. During the course of treatment it was discovered that Eva has a rare chromosome - PHILADELPHIA - there are only 8-9 cases in children per year in the UK.

What this means for Eva is that the only way she can get better is to have a full bone marrow transplant. Her big sister Mia is the most likely bone marrow match but this chance is still only 1 in 4. Mia has been tested but we are awaiting the results.

What we are asking from you is to visit the Anthony Nolan Trust http://www.anthonynolan.org.uk/
and register as a bone marrow donor. All this will take is a single blood test and if somebody is lucky enough for you to have been a match for them, to donate your bone marrow is as simple as giving blood. If you have any questions or concerns contact your GP and they will be happy to help.

Eva needs to find her match NOW. She needs her transplant on week 22 of her treatment. Christmas Day will mark the start of week 4.

You may not be a match for Eva, but you could be a match for somebody. Please act now - you could save a life.
